I usually have a rooms page of one of my favorite offline guys up as a home page since it gives me a list of online favorites and then online guys and is refreshed. I use Firefox to access the site.

Very infrequently when I have either internet or PC performance issues, the All performers section would change to show girls instead of guys. Sometimes it would switch back on its own, sometimes refreshing the page would fix it, sometimes it would show me logged out and I'd have to login again.

Since the latest Firefox update yesterday which shows me at 13.0 this happens all of the time. I'm not sure if there is some kind of performance issue with the site or with Firefox 13 or new behavior of firefox 13. I have noticed that firefox 13 appears to suspend running the javascript, flash, etc. code for tabs that aren't currently being displayed, which it didn't do before. It still shows my ID at the top and I don't have to login again to fix it.

Anything to help save me from the girls would be great. I'm here totally for the guys.

I don't know if this will help you or not.
I'm no geek, but all of my settings are cookie based.
If I cleared my history, cache, and particularly my cookies, I must re-establish all the settings. It is not much of a hassle, and after a few clicks, I'm back in the sadle.

This feature is called Tabs On Demand, if you had many tabs open before and you close firefox for an reason it will open all the tads again if you restore last session BUT won't open them all until you click them one at a time, which is a royal pain I find on a high spec computer. The feature is meant to help people on low spec computers. Anyway you can disable it by...

in about:config

set "browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand" to false

(this will help open the previous session if you click restore them in history)

set "browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand" to false

Now any time you restore the last session they will open up correctly as they did in previous Firefox.

Clear your cookies that will cure this problem of it defaulting to the girls section and showing the girls side of the site and showing the girls in the rooms as the performers.

Go to Tool Menu at top of Firefox > Clear Recent History > and select everything and hit clear now.

You will need to login again on flirt4free and setup how you like to use the site again , eg the guys section, A-Z view, show all performers not paged etc. But once you do that it will remember them.

ALSO REMEMBER this part.. if you go onto the forums or anywhere else on the site and click a female/shemales performers BIO while you are in a guys room it will default the site to girls/shemales section again and will start showing female/shemale performers in the room online at the bottom of the room. Easy way to clear it back to guys is open the male rooms bio you are in and should default back to guys again. This is the same for people seeing guys/shemales/girls listed in the wrong section rooms too, just click the BIO of the section you want to see or go back to the main/home page http://www.flirt4free.com/ and select at top right the section you want to see.

Rather than using "about:config" method, you can simply turn off Tabs on Demand from Firefox button (or Tools)�>Options�>General Tab by merely unchecking "Don�t load tabs until selected" and then clicking OK button.

We're going to see if there is anything we can do on our end to help make this a better experience as well. The setting of girls versus guys is set as a cookie and session variable; not sure why FF13 and IE are not respecting this when refreshing the page.

Thanks guys. Woody's setting seems to have fixed the problem in FF13 for me. FF13 has also created some new artifacts when smooth scrolling the main page (model list page). Turning off hardware acceleration for smooth scrolling seems to have fixed that.

Brad, I'm guessing the fact that I usually have several f4f tabs open may contribute to the issue. It's like one of the hidden tabs is clearing the cookie/session var and then getting suspended before it sets it back. If you have trouble recreating it, I'll see if I can come up with a simple way to duplicate it.

Phil, looks like we have even more in common than just the guys we're interested in

Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.257 and Firefox 13 has a huge known problem at the moment that can make some Flash based sites unusable.. I would advise not updating to it if you only use Firefox 13 as your main browser. It works fine on I.E so no problems there.

BUT on Firefox they added "Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox"... Which causes many headaches at the moment for many Flash based sites.

100's more are springing up all the time all over the internet.. I have recreated this problem too and annoyed as it affects many sites I use on a daily basis. You will see an error that flash crashed and even firefox will shut down after in some cases.

Do you think it is a Firefox13 issue that often gives me a black screen when joining a model in openchat or groupchat? Seems like it takes forever to find the videostream, IF it finds it at all.

I would test your speed on :-

add the links it provides for sharing the info for your connections here and can check it out for you, try the nearest test server to you and then a Los Angeles, CA, USA server as a test to and provide both links or paste the information ehre that you see.

I just have a feeling it's your internet speeds and are you using WIFI to connect to the internet or any other wireless type service ?

Just to inform others that are having problems on the new Firefox 13 and Flash Player version 11.3.300.257 the fix for disabling Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox that I provided in an above post has cured all my problems and all flash based sites work as before now.

Did you make the change on XP or Win7? I haven't been able to update the flash config file on win7 yet due to security issues.

The problem is only on Vista and Windows 7. XP does not suffer from the protected mode problem.

You need to login as an Administrator on Windows Vista or Windows 7 to make changes to the Flash config file.

Seems they updated this information again here, seems a bigger problem than they imagined :winkwink

... Wish they would just update flash again and fix these issues instead of adding fixes that users have to do, while they bluff it's not their software causing the problem.

Okay well they updated Firefox to 13.0.1 and the Adobe Flash Player plugin to 11.3.300.262...

It is better but still not as good as disabling protected mode for more advanced users that require their many tabs open with flash content in them to not freeze or lockup firefox.

On a good note they seem to have fixed the problems of some Flash based sites not working correctly when they updated Firefox to version 13 and Flash player plugin to version 11.3.300.257, BUT as I said not really too happy about how Flash wants to work on firefox 13.0.1 in protected mode and seems to still be not 100% right to me and maybe in the future I will re-enable protected mode and test the updated flash again, for now it's a slightly better flash plugin and atleast all sites work again on a single/few window/tab and aslong as you don't open many tabs or windows with Flash content you should leave protected mode to defaults and on, but if you are an advanced user, well you will want to follow the link below and disable the protected mode.

Hello Nabil,

this might be another problem related to Firefox and Flash:

occasionaly when a model switches back from �Group-Chat" setting to open chat my whole firefox freezes and needs refreshing. This doesn�t happen with Google Chrome.

Additionaly, would you recommend Firefox or Chrome?

bisporti23 I would still use latest firefox and flash player and turn off protected mode mate, it stops a lot of the problems and I find firefox a better browser than crome still.
