Apologies for raising a very minor point ...
I occasionally use the sorting options in the forums, which are activated when you click on the appropriate header (Topic, Topic Starter, Replies, Views, Last Post).
I introduced a reference topic in the MP forum, and I started the title "000 ..." . I thought that would help to make it a bit like a sticky thread. Clicking on "Topic" would give a list sorted alphabetically, and the "000 ..." topic would appear at or near the top.
Sadly the sorting feature doesn't seem to work very well. The result seems fairly random. It may be because some of the forum titles include special characters.
It is great to see that the MP and FP forums are so active. With about 20 new topics/posts a day (including "I'm new" and "Online now") many of the topics of wider interest (eg Suggs' etiquette topic) just seem to disappear very quickly. Any better way of organising the forums would seem helpful, and better sorting could be the key. The search function is useful, and works pretty well.
This might be worth looking at if it could be fixed in a few minutes. More likely it could be added as #273 on the VS list of things to do. I know they have much more important things to look at.
Having been a bit critical last year about the lack of VS contributions to the forums, I have to say that I think they are doing an excellent job. It is really good to see them responding to forum topics here.
