Certain streams have been giving my mute/unmute button (in the chatbox) issues. There's no audio on a stream with the speaker symbol on the thumbnail, and the model seems to be talking to other viewers, however my mute/unmute button is stuck on mute for several of the sound-enabled models. On the few that I can enable sound/unmute on, I get good sound quality (if they're streaming audio as well), and I leave it unmuted so that when I go to a different stream (by following a link, not just switching tabs) it should stay unmuted, however it toggles back to muted once the player finishes loading. Are you using the Full Video size view with the video window dragged by the handle on the right-hand edge of that window to its full extent with only a narrow chat window?

If so you will notice the bar below the chat window with the buttons for Font - Emoticons -Speaker - Tips - Block Grey Users gets condensed as you enlarge the video window. This seems to have the effect of inactivating the buttons progressively from the right to the left the larger you make the video window. (The leftmost button for the Font on my screen always stays active)
If you gradually reduce the size of the video window the buttons, including the muted Speaker button, should become active again.

I don't know if this is the same problem you are having, but lately I have noticed that when using the Google Chrome browser, the mute/unmute button gets stuck and won't change. Whether or not the model's room has audio has no effect on th mute/unmute icon.

rogerebert did you see my post immediately before yours. It maybe the solution ie reduce the size of you video window by using the "handle" (several dots) to the right of the video window to drag it smaller.

I see. Next time I notice this I will definitely adjust the size down some and will post back. I may have jumped the gun a bit in my post, since I've only had it happen the one night, since then everything has worked fine. Thanks!

I'm also not using chrome, I'm using Firefox.

To quickly answer the question regarding the mute/un-mute (sound) button not working and what my findings are regarding this phenomenon some have noticed on the new VS Client 4.0.45 (to check what chat version you are on, right click anywhere on the chat interface, eg. the video or where you see the chat.

Okay the situations that stop you muting and unmuting the sound are as follows:-

1- if a model is on break and you are in open room you can't change the sound setting on the chat.

2- if a model is in private and you are in open room you can't change the sound setting on the chat.

3- if a model is in group chat and the group chat private has started and you have not pledged to be part of the group chat and you are in open room again you can't change the sound setting on the chat.


Every other situation you can change the sound setting in the chat, Examples:- in private, in the group chat show because you have pledged, party chat, private and ofcourse open room while the model is available.


So my guess this is either by design to function this way or a bug that has crept in these situations that stop you altering the Mute/Unmute feature on the chat bar.


If you are having any other problem with the chat make sure to update to using Firefox Internet Browser (Current version as of today is version 6.0) and the latest Adobe Flash player for Firefox (Latest version of Adobe Flash player as of today is version 10.3.183.7).

I am hearing Internet Explorer is a bit flaky with the chat, but not experiencing any problems with it myself.

Just a quick note I do find Firefox more stable on Flirt4free and seems to be better optimised to work on Firefox than Internet Explorer.

Nabil - Thanks for your extensive reply regarding this issue. If that fails they may like to consider my post of 20 August regarding reducing the size of the video window as when fully extended thereby narrowing the chat window it affects the working of the buttons.
