Doesnt it come with the software to download all this? I dont think I have to go there and download it off the website.

It comes with the software ofcourse on cd. But if you want their latest drivers they are available on their website with the links I gave you too..

So I have been sitting here for 2 hours trying to figure out this thing and its just not working. I hooked it up to the tv and it works beautiful so I know its not the camera. I uninstalled every software that came with the Capture Cable and re-installed everything and still nothing but black and white lines when I try to sign on. I even did it all on another laptop that I have that is Windows XP and nothing there too. Do you think maybe it could be a bad S-Cable? I dont know what to do. This is soooo frustrating.

PURG my laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A135 Windows Vista 32 bit operating system

okay if you hooked it up to the tv with the s-video cable and it worked .. means camera and cable are good

..

now did you make sure in the software that u set it to NTSC tv or USA standard ?

if you did it sounds like the capture stick does not work or is not used correctly as a capture device that the performer application can use.. some overlay problems or the drivers are special to work only with their software for recording .

So smile be happy you know you have a working camera now and thats not the problem, that would be the expensive fix.

Now the dazzle you want that will be good enough for what you need is the dazzle recorder

thats the link to the one that will be good for your needs. and its about $50..

Return that capture stick and get a refund and don't waste more time on it if you did all the checks and made sure you are on the right NTSC standard in the drivers software and if it fails on the performer app then it is probably how the capture device works in a non standard way to how windows wants to use a capture device in any program. Some capture devices will only work on their own software and won't even be detected by other programs.

I didnt hook it up using S video on the tv i used the audio video cables it came with. That is a DVD recorder dazzle. Doesnt sound right hmmm

it's right dear.. it's just the same hardware as the other kits just with cheaper software for recording on and not the full blown editing suite... It's what you need to make it work on the performer application, ignore the device name it's just marketing to a certain set of people that want simple features without all the hassle of learning the full editing suite that comes with the more expensive range.

ou will never use the editing software that comes with it anyway for the performer application just the drivers that make it detectable under windows.

Cool , make sure to remove all signs of the previous capture device.. remove all drivers for the old device and any other software it came with.. That way hopefully you won't have any conflicts.. Good Luck

Excuse me but do you not believe a woman can help you?

You are spending all this money when you need two $25 cables.

I have freaking photos of my setup - perhaps I can email Purg and he can forward them to you.

I told you exactly what to do. So easy a caveman can do it.

Loona and I use the same setup. And we connected two cables.

So since you can't seem to believe a word I say, contact Loona since I told her how to set it up and it is working for her.

Visit my chatroom and SEE what my setup looks when broadcasting.

You making this way more complicated than need be.

Download drivers? Say what? The cam itself has no drivers and does not need them.

I downloaded nothing in my setup. I am like WTF?

Good grief! You don't need any drivers or any obsolete Sony manual.

The EVI 30 was discotinued in 2004 so what is an old outdated manual with no information that pertains to EVIs!

I kind of know what I am talking about here, but you won't believe me.

Drivers are for the capture device.. the dazzle dvd recorder :winkwink

All hardware devices require a driver for the operating system to know how to see and use them.

The manual is for people that don't understand the features of the camera or what the buttons do on the remote..

Some devices have drivers built into windows and windows automatically installs them without you having to manually do it too.. example the mouse and keyboard..

The video camera does not need drivers it's just an analogue device that connects to a capture device that is a digital device that connects to the computer and requires a driver.
