Thanks to too much month at the end of my money my vip account is now off until I can renew once I am paid on Fri, I have been thinking.

Could the site look into an option of having members pay for their VIP in credits that we have in our account if there is enough to cover the normal monthly cost. As looking at the 'buy credits' page the $49.95 is equal to 500 creditts. I know that I have enough credits to cover this at present. Make it an option that ONLY appears on or after the renewal date of the vip as an option - the credits are already paid for so the site isn't losing there.

Just a suggestion / idea I had the other night while working.

My latest automatic monthly membership renewal was stopped by my stupid bank. They were doing a "random security check". They rang me up, and when I said it was OK they then allowed the payment to be made. I moaned at the them for querying the same payment that I make every month. I also got an e-mail from Customer Services.

If I had been away on holiday, I wouldn't have known about this and it is possible that my VIP membership would have lapsed. Meanwhile I have plenty of credits in my account.

I do hope that VS can implement something like this to prevent accidental lapses in VIP membership.

My idea is based upon the normal amount of credits that matches the normal monthly price of VIP -- make 1 limitation is you must have enough credits in your wallet / bank to cover the fee

I agree with this idea although I would probably never use it. It shouldn't matter how much you pay CPM as long as you have the credits in your bank.

I agree that there is this complication, Phil. VS may not be keen to offer membership renewals on the basis of 10 credits = $1 if the credits have been bought at a better rate in a special offer. Hopefully, VS will be responding to this topic shortly.

I am assuming there are a number of disbenefits in allowing VIP membership to lapse and then renew. It would be good to know this would not happen as long as I have sufficient credits in my account. That is why I particularly like Suggs' suggestion.

btw I am wondering if this topic shouldn't be transferred to the General Discussions forum.

Bit hard to post it in the VIP forum as I posted it the day AFTER my vip had ran out meaning I am access denied there #cheesygrin

If VS haven't responded by Friday, I would be happy if you decided to raise this again in the GD forum. I would be interested to know more about what happens when a VIP membership lapses - but not for discussion here.

Yes it is. Buut now I have been paid vip is paid for.

I had car insurane / 4 new tyres / return flights to spain and hotel accommodation to pay for this month. Lucjily the flights / hotel are a 1 off expense (wedding to go to this easter )

I would think that the administration of this would be rather complicated.
Should it ever be implemented I would expect that the option of suspending the normal monthly collection of the VIP renewal would have to be made available and used some 7 days before the due date so that the normal method could be suspended.
It is a pertinent point regarding how many credits are needed and virtually impossible to calculate as it would be too easy to opt for this every time having banked credits purchased at a discount.

If they gave some leeway after the renewal had failed, say 3/4days, before cancelling the membership that may give time to come to some arrangement.
Whether they can assess the worth of retaining the goodwill of a member before automatic cancellation would have to be their business decision.
If a membership is cancelled for an oversight can they reinstate it with all past show history and videos etc?

The wedding was budgeted.

the tyres - they had been slashed by some drunken arseholes when I had gone to a party. This bumped up my insurance from �830 to almost �2500. So NO I didnt budget those expenses
