Could you please explain how to use the whisper feature in free chat?

To use the whisper feature in chat, you need to do the following. Example room name is Tessa.

So to whisper to Tessa you would type

/Tessa Hello


and the model would see Hello in whisper to her and the rest of the room would see nothing.

Remember to have no space infront of / ,then room name and then space message.

You sure you doing it right? Forward slash immediately followed by the correct spelling of the model's name then a space and then your message.
For Example to a model named abcdef you would type as follows

/abcdef How are you?

If you have done it correctly you will know it is a whisper as you, that is only you, and the model will see in the chat window the following

chinmusic: (abcdef) How are you?

I may have missed some punctuation from what you will see but definitely the models name will appear in brackets (abcdef)

If, however, you spelt the models name incorrectly but got it immediately after the slash it should tell you (or used to tell you) that it could not find that model or something to this effect.
If you have not typed the forward slash or put a space after it before the model's name everybody including yourself will see exactly what you typed in the chat window and you will know the whisper did not work.

When you asked the model whether the whisper had worked or not what had you seen appear in the chat window? If the brackets were around the models name it was a whisper. You do know of course that models cannot whisper back? Their typing is visible to all.

Wrong whisper wont give you any message (fault message is gone since more than a year). Model can only whisper back in paid show (not in party chat).
For whispering to the model you only need first 3 letters. In Pete's example /abc How are you will work.
You can only whisper to the model in the room.
I hope it helps - and you can enjoy the whisper feature - but never forget: extensive whispering in a room can destroy any athmosphere
