Cannot figure out why performers on the site are whispering. Is not the whole idea about the site to actually get people to talk in open chat or what? You now have to wonder why so many chat rooms seem void of viewer (OK OK the grey ones don't count)...seems either there are not viewers in the room or they are all just whispering.
Sorry guys but seems this whispering is really getting crazy and sure to be something of a turn off to many members.
Whisper is fine if it is limited, but total chat in whispers really. Why not just hit the private button and whisper away like crazy.
Just a fishy opinion and sure to get a few blasting responses. :winkwink

Well gofish one reason performers may whisper is this. Some performers have that member who spends big credits and thinks they own the performer. They tell that performer to acknowledge he belongs to them, and no one else may touch them. They profess their love and beg the performer to do the same. It's pathetic but working here is a job and performers will appease these inflated members. Luckily, they can whisper to the average member who just want get to know them a bit before going private and their "owner" never knows. That is just one possible reason.

That's interesting, and like gofish, I never thought of it that way. Back when I was here a lot I somewhat "owned" a model for about 150,000 credits a year. But I never wanted to try to make him exclusive. In fact I encouraged him to get more credits from other customers. But I suppose some men are very possessive, even with these electrons and pixels.

Most of the whispering I saw was by the infrequent customers who seemed shy or seemed to want something special without asking in public. Some of them tried to proposition for a session on one of the no-charge services so they wouldn't have to tip flirt credits.

carbon_unit it was great that you were able to do that for a performer on the site and still show respect for others in the chatroom. That is really what the site is about, but when a new performer starts whispering and seems to have no intend to talk in open chat it is sort of the beginning of the end for the site.
It is cool that there are guys like you on the site and think we all appreciate what you do for performers. Fact is if a member want to constantly whisper to a performer why the heck don't they just take him or her private and have done with it. By doing that there would be a certain degree of respect to the performer and the other viewers in the room.
Is it any wonder why chat rooms are cloaked in total silence these days. Sorry to sound like a downer, but there is so much more FUN in a chat room to actually have everyone talking and heck whatever is said should never cast judgement on the person who says it.

So i am can say by my side about this - somebody are asking about what i am have to do and i hold it at secret a lot (maybe 70% of my stuff) - and i do wisper to dont drain it to members so fast. Simply : i am hold an entrigue :D
Yes sure, sometimes people try to hide they customesr form another eyes but i think is absurdly coz customers are join a lot rooms per day and sure they tip not to one model )
Its been so funny to talk with some models who think about " member are only mine " hehe
So its just my opinion, hope noone are not hurt on me guys )

My friend, gofish, you don t understand a thing, even if the flirt site is a very social one, like noe one other, and members from here mostly likes to talk with others members also, and to make rooms to be a "family" you must understand are some members which come only for the model, and they like to keep the conversation with the model only between they

It's the relationships that keep some of us returning to a performer over and over again. Those whispered messages can convey special greetings, endearments, arrangements for privates, enquiries, confidences. An intuitive, skillful model knows the importance of balancing between public and whispered messages. And models are going to repeat what's successful.

If whispering is creating a quiet room, let the model know. If it doesn't improve, move on. Return another day or even another time. The atmosphere of a room changes depending on who's present.

Gofish I think you are missing the point here. Look back at what Danny Grant wrote to you: "you must understand are some members which come only for the model, and they like to keep the conversation with the model only between they." It works both ways as some models attempt to make chatting more intimate and personal, it might lead to a faster or more frequent private show. Having chat taking place in open isn't the end goal of all this, a financial transaction is. There is more than one way to get to that financial transaction and the models figure out the best way. I am not a fan of all the whispering but two of the top ranked guys on this site pointed out something when I asked why are we whispering and it opened my mind up to it. They told me it allows us to get to know each other better and if we go private one day its more comfortable for both of us. Now that I know one of them better more of our conversations are in open chat. Danny Grant is right, many members come here only for the models and not to chat with other members for hours on end.

First of all I wish to have it clearly understood that is if performers and members wish to go into total whisper mode go for it. Yes know doubt many performers benefit from this and most likely because they have been round the site for a long time.
The fact is that now everyone seems to be doing it and for any of us who like to interact in the chat room it just causes us to wonder why are we here. Sorry but years back they first brought in the whisper feature it turned into a real disaster. Many members and performer left the site which caused the site to once again only allow VIPs to whisper. Since they have brought it back it seems the same thing is happening and it has to be very frustrating for performers trying to read everything that is said and often missing a lot.
Sort of thought if a member want to whisper all the time to a performer merely that that performer private and perhaps show a little respect for others in the room.
I am pretty sure there must be quite a few viewers who get turned off when they say something and never even get noticed b the performer because he or she is in message overload.
Sorry for the rant, but this fishy enjoys the company of EVERYONE in the room. Hope this message did not offend anyone as that is not my intent.

As you are aware models have always had the ability to turn whispering off, even back when the site was going back and forth on the matter. If a model doesn't like it and cannot keep up with all the chat they can simply turn it off. I don't see it as disrespecting others in the room, if a member doesn't want to interact with other members and the model is fine with it there are other rooms for you to check out. If he's using it to setup a private or earn tips why not use it, afterall that's ultimately why they are here for right???

Again, I'm not a fan of it either but have opened up to it after discussing it with models themselves.

The same would hold true if all the messages were visible. Whether its a whisper or visible message it still adds to this message overload the performer is trying to read apace. Comments get lost all the time when a chat room is in active conversation.

Brett you probably heard a few dreams die writing that line. However, it is true. Performers are here to earn money. Is there the rare individual here solely to make friends? Not likely. Is it possible to have some level of friendship with a performer? Yes, but the money is always a factor. If money did not play a part then you would see performers either set their CPM as low as it can go (I don't believe 0 CPM is available) or they would set it so high only the richest members could pay it thus allowing them to chat away in the open room. I do know there have been performers who set their CPM very high to discourage private shows. They wanted a break from pvts without having to log out.

Performers do not earn income in open chat except for tips. Even with tips in open chat, on average performers will earn more in private, parties or group show. In the end their goal is financial reward.

gofish, I won't repeat what everyone else has already said, but I will say this: not everyone enjoys participating in the chat, especially when the chat is about topics to which they cannot contribute. Do you think it is comfortable for a member who knows nothing about modern music--techno, rap, etc.--to be in a room where the conversation is mostly focused around it? Or someone who knows nothing about American football to be in a room where everyone is discussing the Super Bowl? A model and a member can carry on a different conversation via whispering--a slow one, maybe, to allow the model to interact with the other members--but one which allows both sides to feel appreciated.

And then there are the rooms where the entire chat is nothing but "show ----- bb" and "I wanna f*ck you". Perhaps the model just wants an intelligent conversation with someone he trusts and feels comfortable with--who may not at that time be able to go into private--until someone arrives who can back up all the requests and demands with credits.

As for your comment about whispering when there seems to be no one else in the room...you, yourself, have urged members to TALK in the rooms, which means that you are aware there are many in the rooms who do NOT talk. The whispering keeps a conversation private without actually going into private (which a member might not be able to afford at the time).

Thank you for those compliments. In my case I was in constant contact with my performer to help him navigate and respond to cheating and cheap customers. I even kept a running tab of who the best customers were to help him decide whether to give something for free. I was trying to maximize his income outside of my pocket. I also taught him in real time how it is not profitable to give discounted rates. But I have many times reminded customers and performers that this is a chat room and they should chat in it, not whisper in private. It is particularly irritating when only one side of the conversation is private and we have no idea what's going on.

I think whispering for a reason is fine. I think whispering when the model needs to know something, such as mucus is dripping from his nose, is fine. The irritating whispering is when the model is conducting the entire room by whisper. When I enter a room and the first greeting is a whisper, I just leave if he's not really cute or ignore the whispers if he's cute enough to hang out a few minutes. In other words, I don't like it when whisper is the performer's default. or, like carbon unit said, one half of the conversation is whisper and the other side is in open. A lot of people try to whisper and don't even know how.
