It might only be me, but are more members resorting to whispering these day or what. I know this is something most VIPs are used to as you rarely see a VIP anywhere. To top it off models can now whisper which can be cool, but sort of think it is going overboard.
Not sure why a model would respond a message made in open chat with a whisper that could very easily said in open chat. Some of the rooms seem to be quiet but if a model uses audio it is clear that there is whispering going on. Hey I get it, but have to say it sure puts a damper on things when one often seems to be the only one actually talking in open chat.
Whispering is great if you just want to give the model a quick message, but not an entire conversation. Then there is the issue of premium users being block from whisper and trying to explain to a model that there is some setting on their end that needs to be turned on to allow this to happen.
Sorry if this seems like a rant, but often find that I am the only one actually talking to the model. Heck it is bad enough with all the viewers who just never talk.
I know there are a lot of very cool members out there and always enjoy seeing them in the rooms. Would be interested in knowing what others feel about whispering, and hope that the site does not eliminate it for premium members as they did in the past.

I don't whisper... I takes away from the social aspect of the room... I guess for the guys that spend a lot here the models treat them special. Which makes sense(cents).
But I agree... I prefer open chat... Prvts are for hush hush time

I admit to whispering quite a lot. Sometimes it is to assist new models who are at a loss for what to do in new situations. Sometimes it is to carry on a conversation that was interrupted by members entering the room. Sometimes it is in response to a comment or query from the model to me. Sometimes it is to clarify something that the model has a question about, like an unknown abbreviation or the meaning of a $10 word.

And sometimes it is just to talk to the model and keep him from getting bored because, for whatever reason, the members in the room are too busy talking to each other instead of talking with the model.

However, since in most cases I don't usually say much in the chat room anyway, since I don't often have anything meaningful to add to whatever the conversation might be about, my whispering is actually rather minimal overall.

Whisper is great to avoid overly obsess clingy hungry thirsty members... nd in this site just lookin around the forum you can tell there's tons of them so yeah whispering is heart heart :drinkup

I can think of a half dozen or so models rooms I have visited for the first time in recent months and the model initiated the conversation in whisper. Some of the models were red tag new the others were veterans. I think it is up to each model to determine what is accepted in their room. They are in a business. It's (flirt4)free enterprise. :orglaugh

(ahem, err sorry) Their success depends on whether the majority find their practices popular or offensive.

I think this is your fourth whispering topic here, gofish, but I can understand why you feel strongly. Whispering is "going overboard" as you say. It has now become an epidemic :evil

Just like Asti, I find that ALL new performers whisper EVERYTHING to me. Even the simplest messages like "hi", "hru" and "thx".

I have never liked whispering here, and have tried to do it as little as possible. VS still advise that whispers can be very disruptive and should be used responsibly and only when necessary (a).

I now have a genuine dilemma when performers whisper everything to me. Should I:

1. say "hi", "I'm fine thx", "hru" and other routine messages as a whisper

2. say "hi", "I'm fine thx", "hru" and other routine messages in open chat

3. tell the performer I don't like whispering

4. change my view about whispering, and start to enjoy it

5. simply leave the performer's room

as long as the website allow the whisper option, I don`t see the reason not to be used..i do whisper to ppl that I enjoy to chat with every now and then..as long as it`s my pleasure to talk with them things that are not that appropriate for open room, whispering is everyone choice... just my opinion.

happened to me just awhile ago:

fabulous me : dont whisper to me
mooodeeel : im not comfortable others to reading my conversation with someone

Like Asti and Ronnie-UK my experience has been that new models whisper "hello" and "hru" when I enter their rooms. I assumed it was part of a business strategy to make the member think that he is special to this attractive young man. While it is preferable to auto greeting (which I hate), i usually answer in open chat. Probably makes look like an like old fool to other members in the room (which isn't far off the mark). :orglaugh

a few models do the Worst of the Worst :
They use room receptionist/Auto-greeter with a message that has (whisper) in front of it . :helpme

Sometimes I tell the model why use auto-greeter and pretend they typed a whisper when they often are not near their keyboards :orglaugh

Too fast greeting before the video loads with whatever name I use seems creepy .
Whispering rooms usually slows traffic returning overall . :twocents

If those who whisper send credits , so be it for the whisper rooms :twocents

imacumluvr I respect your right to whisper and the model to allow whispering the plain and simple fact is the site did have whispering in the past and then restricted it to VIPs only because certain members abused it. It is not much fun to go in a room and see no one talking but the model responding to something that is said.
The fact is that it would be nice to see both models and members having a good chat which may or may not lead to something.
You point of view is appreciated.

Performers are able to use the autogreeter. They are now able to whisper. I was apprehensive that some performers would start to combine the two, as you have mentioned. Ugh!

You seem to favour option 2 in my post #7.

I wouldn't be concerned that some might think you are an "old fool" who doesn't know how to whisper. You could mention that those who run this site say that we should only whisper when necessary...

I don't mind some whispering. That said the newbies seemed to be taking all the heat in this issue. Just pointing out veteran models use the function too. It's kind of nice being greeted by whisper, definitely beats the auto greeting. :winkwink
